Michigan Nanny Solutions is now interviewing for the following position:

A loving family in Forest Hills is seeking a Part-Time Nanny for 20 hours per week!

Parents are looking to hire an experienced, professional, and self-motivated Nanny to join their parenting team and help them care for their four children.  The family has three boys who are 8-years-old, 5-years-old, and 3-years-old, and a 14-month-old girl.  The hours needed each week are Monday and Thursday from 7:30am to 5:30pm for a total of 20 guaranteed hours per week.  In August 2023, the Family will say good-bye to their long-time part-time nanny and their weekly needs will change to every Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4pm for a guaranteed 42.5 hours per week.  The Family’s ideal candidate will be able to increase from 20 weekly hours to 42.5 hours in mid-August, though they are open to continuing to split the hours between two part-time nannies if needed.  The Family is excited to have their ideal Part-Time Nanny start right away!

The Nanny’s primary responsibility is to provide maternal, loving care and oversee the varying schedules of the family’s 4 children.  Nanny’s work day will mostly be spent caring for the youngest boy, who attends morning preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and their toddler girl.   The oldest two boys attend school full-time and will only need care before and after school, on sick days, snow days, and school breaks.  Nanny may be asked to help with transportation to and/or from the boys’ schools on occasion.   Whether with 1, 2, or all 4 kids, Nanny will be encouraged to plan activities, take the children on outings and field trips, oversee daily outside play and exploration time, and work on learning and development as much as possible while managing the daily fun and chaos of 4 children of differing ages.  Weekly themed learning curriculum to use with the two youngest children is provided by the agency.  Special care must be given to protecting the 3-year-old from a tree nut allergy, shellfish allergy, and dairy allergy.  Parents will help set Nanny up for success in navigating these allergies with training and consistent communication.

The Nanny will also be responsible for light child-related housekeeping, including: helping with the children’s laundry, running the dishwasher, tidying and maintaining organization in the children’s rooms and play areas, and tidying up after themselves and the children in the common areas after meals and playtime (living room, kitchen, etc.), including the children in tasks as developmentally appropriate.   The Family would also appreciate Nanny’s help in bathing the youngest two children each week and would love to have a Nanny who was up for taking the baby on grocery runs or running other errands occasionally when the 3-year-old is in preschool.

The ideal Nanny for this family will have a warm, friendly, confident, and outgoing demeanor, and will take personal and professional pride in their ability to make a positive impact on the families they work with over a long-term basis.  They will be self-motivated and intuitive and will function like an extension of the mother to naturally step into the role and learn to anticipate the needs of the children, the home, and the family as a whole.  Nanny will work closely with the parents to oversee daily and weekly routines for the children and keep their schedules straight.  They will help the parents and other part-time nanny to keep ongoing order and organization in the home, and they will be confident in their ability to accomplish what needs to be done for the children without waiting for instructions.  They should have an impeccable work ethic and be reliable, flexible, responsible, and trustworthy.  The ideal Nanny will also be experienced in teaching and engaging with children through playtime and adventures, and will have lots of patience, strong empathy skills, and a deep maternal instinct and passion for working with children.  The family prioritizes honest, open communication, and are looking forward to welcoming their Nanny as a valued member of their family and extension of their parenting team!

This position requires a long-term commitment to the family, and preference will be given to the candidate who is willing to stay for more than two years.  A minimum of 1 year commitment is required.  Pay will start at $20-25 per hour depending on education and experience.  Nanny will have guaranteed pay, paid time off, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, and other standard nanny benefits.   Details will be discussed with qualified nannies at an in-person interview.
