POSITION OVERVIEW:

Michigan Nanny Solutions is excited to introduce a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Full-Time Nanny to join a new-to-Grand Rapids family of four in Forest Hills! With a sweet 4-year-old son, an infant daughter, and two busy physician parents, this family is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging professional who will become an important part of their children’s lives for years to come.

The family’s 4-year-old son is a gentle, thoughtful little boy with a wonderfully sensitive heart and a growing fascination with dinosaurs! He’s affectionate, cautious in new situations, and incredibly sweet with his baby sister, whom he absolutely adores. He enjoys reading, imaginative play, and having a little extra time to cuddle before starting his day. His younger sister will be approximately 3 months old when the position begins, offering the opportunity to build a special bond from infancy while supporting her growth and development through the many exciting milestones of early childhood.

This position will focus primarily on caring for the family’s infant daughter throughout the day, along with morning and afternoon care and school transportation for her older brother. The family is committed to keeping their daughter home with her nanny long-term, providing the opportunity to nurture her development through infancy, toddlerhood, and beyond. On school breaks, sick days, and other occasions when both children are home, the nanny will enjoy caring for both siblings together. In addition to providing exceptional childcare, the nanny will take ownership of the children’s laundry, dishes, meals, bedrooms, play areas, and other child-related household responsibilities.

Scheduling flexibility is an important component of this position. The family guarantees 40 hours of pay each week, with variable Monday–Friday shifts scheduled within a 6:15 AM–5:00 PM window. Many mornings will begin at 6:15 AM, while some shifts will be considerably shorter depending on the parents’ schedules, particularly on Tuesdays. Because both parents work in hospital-based medicine, occasional unexpected delays may require flexibility at the end of the workday. Weekly schedules will be provided in advance, with any unexpected changes communicated as promptly as possible.

This family deeply values kindness, affection, inclusivity, and time spent together. They believe children should be encouraged to explore, play, learn, and enjoy their childhood while developing empathy, accountability, and respect for others. Their hope is to find a nanny who shares these values, genuinely loves caring for young children, and will develop a close, lasting relationship with their entire family. If you’re an experienced nanny who loves the early years of childhood and hopes to become a cherished part of one family’s life, this could be the position you’ve been waiting for!

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU LOVE:

The Sweetest Stages of Childhood:

From baby snuggles, tummy time, and first milestones to dinosaur adventures, storybooks, and preschooler conversations, this position offers the opportunity to enjoy two very different and equally rewarding stages of childhood! The family’s son is a sensitive, affectionate little boy who responds best to patience, gentle encouragement, and plenty of opportunities to play and explore at his own pace. You’ll have the privilege of building close relationships with both children while helping them grow into kind, confident, and capable little people.

Nurturing Infants Into Curious Toddlers:

If you love caring for babies and watching their personalities emerge, you’ll have the opportunity to be an important part of this little girl’s earliest years! The family is looking forward to having a professional nanny who can provide consistent, individualized care while intentionally supporting her development. From establishing healthy routines and encouraging early milestones to introducing music, books, sensory experiences, baby sign language, and age-appropriate adventures, you’ll have the freedom to create enriching days that grow right alongside her.

A Warm, Multicultural Family:

This family celebrates their diverse cultural backgrounds and values the important role their extended family plays in their lives. Their home is filled with affection, close family connections, and an appreciation for different cultures, experiences, and perspectives. They value kindness, respect, inclusivity, and raising children who understand the importance of treating others well. The family would also love to encourage Spanish language development, so a nanny who speaks Spanish would be an exciting bonus, although it is absolutely not a requirement!

Making a Meaningful Difference Every Day:

With two demanding medical careers, the parents recognize just how valuable dependable, exceptional childcare can be. Your presence will allow them to focus on their patients during the workday, knowing their children are in excellent hands, and return home to enjoy quality time together as a family. Whether you’re nurturing the baby’s development, helping their son enjoy a peaceful morning, or keeping the children’s daily needs organized and cared for, your contributions will make a genuine difference in their lives.

A Lasting Relationship That Grows With the Family:

The family hopes to find a nanny who will grow alongside their children for many years to come. As the children become increasingly independent and eventually attend school full-time, they envision the position naturally evolving into a Family Assistant role with additional household responsibilities. For now, your focus will remain on providing exceptional childcare, with the opportunity to gradually expand your role through mutually agreed-upon responsibilities and annual reviews. If you’re seeking stability, professional growth, and a family that will value your contribution through every stage of childhood, this position offers a wonderful opportunity for both.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attentive Infant Care & Early Childhood Development:

Provide nurturing, responsive care for the family’s infant daughter, making her safety, comfort, and development your highest priorities. You’ll manage feeding, naps, diapering, and daily routines while supporting physical, cognitive, social, and emotional milestones through tummy time, sensory exploration, music, reading, and age-appropriate play. As she grows, you’ll introduce engaging activities, outings, and opportunities for social interaction that encourage curiosity, confidence, and healthy development throughout her infant and toddler years.

Preschooler Care, Routines & Transportation:

Help the family’s 4-year-old son start his mornings with patience, warmth, and encouragement, allowing time for the cuddles, stories, and gentle transitions that help him feel ready for the day. You’ll manage morning preparations and daily preschool drop-off and pickup, transporting his baby sister along for the ride. When preschool isn’t in session, you’ll confidently balance both children’s needs while providing engaging activities, consistent routines, and thoughtful guidance. The family values a gentle but consistent approach to discipline that emphasizes patience, communication, and age-appropriate expectations.

Active Learning, Play & Everyday Adventures:

Create opportunities for the children to learn through play, exploration, and meaningful everyday experiences. You’ll plan age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, language development, physical movement, and social interaction while introducing new experiences as the baby grows. From story times and sensory activities to playdates, parks, and local attractions, the family welcomes a nanny who enjoys getting out into the community and making childhood fun!

Child-Related Household Responsibilities:

As a professional nanny, you’ll take ownership of the everyday tasks that support the children’s care and keep their spaces clean, organized, and comfortable. These responsibilities should be balanced around the children’s needs, with their safety, well-being, and development always taking priority.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing both children’s laundry, including washing, folding, putting clothing away, and organizing wardrobes as they grow
  • Washing bottles, children’s dishes, and feeding supplies
  • Preparing age-appropriate meals and snacks for the children
  • Maintaining organization and tidiness in the children’s bedrooms, play areas, and shared activity spaces
  • Cleaning up after meals, activities, and outings, including keeping children’s equipment and frequently used items clean
  • Monitoring and restocking diapers, wipes, feeding supplies, and other children’s essentials
  • Researching and planning developmental activities, outings, playdates, and age-appropriate learning opportunities

Communication & Professional Partnership:

Maintain open, respectful communication with the parents regarding the children’s routines, developmental progress, activities, and daily needs. You’ll be trusted to exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and provide consistent care that reflects the family’s parenting philosophy. Because both parents have demanding medical schedules, punctuality and dependable attendance are especially important, and the family hopes to develop a collaborative, trusting relationship with a nanny who takes pride in their professional responsibilities.
