Michigan Nanny Solutions is now interviewing for the following position:

A bustling family in Richland is seeking a Long-Term, Full-Time Nanny for 48 hours per week!

Healthcare Professional Parents are looking to hire an experienced, career-minded, and self-motivated Professional Nanny to join their parenting team and provide long-term care for their four children–two boys aged 6 and 4, and two girls who are almost 3 and 1.5. Due to the demanding nature of their jobs and their desire to have consistent, reliable childcare year-round, Parents are seeking a long-term candidate who will be able to invest in the children & their needs full-time for the next 5-10+ years. The right candidate will be able to start right away!

Nanny’s work schedule will be Mondays from 7:15am to 5:15pm, and Tuesday through Friday from 7:15am to 4:45pm, for a total of 48 Guaranteed Hours each week, with guaranteed overtime at time and a half for 8 hours each week. The Family hopes to secure this high level of availability, flexibility, and reliability for their family for many years to come and would like to maintain full-time childcare coverage even when all children are in school full-time, with a transition in roles and job description from Nanny to Family Assistant at that time.

The Nanny’s primary responsibility is to provide maternal, loving care and oversee the varying schedules of the family’s 4 children. The oldest boy (6) is in full-time Kindergarten this year, and his parents describe him as being a very bright, friendly, empathetic, and energetic child who is always smiling and loves LEGOs and outdoor adventuring! The youngest boy (4) attends preschool every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 11 and will attend Young 5’s starting in the fall, and he’s described as being a typical 4-year-old child—mostly sweet, sometimes stubborn, and his favorite things in the whole world are his siblings (especially his baby sister!), attention, and helping others. The oldest girl (3) is currently home full-time and will attend preschool every Tuesday and Thursday starting in the fall. She is described as a smart, friendly, and independent child who loves Disney Princesses, especially Elsa and Anna, pretend play, and any/everything pink! The baby sister, currently 17-months-old, is very easy going (except when hangry) and always seems to be happy and have a smile on her face, especially when she’s getting to play with her doting big siblings!

In addition to providing care for the children when they are not in school, Nanny will provide daily transportation to and from their schools and any future extracurricular activities and classes. The Family provides a vehicle for Nanny’s use during their workday, so Nanny will not need to use their own vehicle to transport the children.

Whether with one, two, or all 4 kiddos, Nanny will be encouraged to plan outings and playdates, plan crafts, games, and activities for the children, will prioritize and oversee daily outside play and exploration time, and will help influence the children’s learning and development through teaching-through-play. Daily outside playtime and weekly social excursions are a high priority for this family, and they hope to hire a nanny who is energetic, engaging, and excited about planning and participating in enriching activities for their children both inside and outside their home. Above all else, the Family hopes Nanny truly loves their smart, funny, adventurous children as much as they do and that they sincerely enjoy the time they get to spend together each day!

The Nanny will also be responsible for light child-related housekeeping, including: washing dishes used by Nanny and the children, tidying and maintaining organization in the children’s bedrooms and play spaces, wiping down the high chair and cleaning up after meals as needed, and tidying up after indoor and outdoor playtime and craft or learning activities, while encouraging the children’s active participation in chores as much as possible.

The ideal Nanny for this family is an active, fun-loving, friendly, and dedicated child caregiver who has a positive and inclusive outlook on life and strives to treats others with respect, kindness, and empathy (and is skilled in modeling these traits for the children they care for!) They have a personal and professional passion for spending their days investing in the children they care for, making sure they feel seen, understood, and loved, and keeping them safe, healthy, and engaged. They are a professional career Nanny with solid work ethic and a high level of flexibility, reliability, responsibility, and dependability, who prides themselves on being punctual, and has a work history of making long-term commitments to the families they’ve worked for. They are a self-motivated, well-organized, and generally high-achieving individual who has prioritized exceeding expectations to meet the needs of past long-term families, and who brings a helpful “How else can I make a difference?” approach to their daily job duties. The family hopes Nanny quickly feels like family, and will be comfortable and confident in keeping open, honest lines of communication with the parents in all things related to the children and the position.

Preference will be given to candidates who have long-term experience as a Professional Nanny, ideally with multi-year commitments made to past families. Previous Family Assistant experience would be a bonus, as the family hopes to transition their Nanny into a Family Assistant role in 4-5 years when all children are in school full-time.

This position requires a long-term commitment to the family, and preference will be given to the candidate who is willing to invest in this family for the next 10+ years. A minimum of 1 year commitment is required. Pay will start at $22-26 per hour depending on education and experience. Nanny will have guaranteed pay, paid time off, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, and other standard nanny benefits. Details will be discussed with qualified nannies at an in-person interview.
