Baby Boy: 3-months-old

Position Overview: Michigan Nanny Solutions is thrilled to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Full-Time Nanny to join a two-physician family in Grand Rapids. This position offers 30 guaranteed hours per week, from Monday to Friday, 12 PM to 6 PM, starting by Monday, August 19th, 2024.  Join a family with a delightful infant son who will be 3 months old at the start and become a cherished long-term partner in his growth and development.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • Dynamic and Engaging Environment: Work in a family that values creativity, inquisitiveness, and life-long learning. You will be encouraged to plan and execute a variety of stimulating activities and educational playtimes, both inside and outside the home, to keep the baby boy engaged and encourage his curiosity as he grows.
  • Family-Oriented Atmosphere: Become an integral part of a family that is excited to welcome you as a critical part of their long-term parenting team and hopes you naturally feel like part of their family.  These First-Time Parents highly value the role you will have in their son’s life and are excited to build a long-term relationship with you for many years to come!
  • Long-Term Career Opportunity: Experience the deep satisfaction and joy that comes from investing in the same child and family over a multi-year position. You will be invited to thrill along with the parents over every new stage, development, and accomplishment as the baby boy grows up from infancy, through toddlerhood, to preschool, and beyond.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Daily Care: Provide loving, engaging care to the baby boy, focusing on his emotional, social, and educational needs and investing in his health, safety, education, and growth long-term.
  • Engaging Activities:  Lay a foundation for early learning by engaging baby boy with intentional conversation, books, songs, toys, and activities that promote fine and gross motor skill development, provide sensory experiences, and foster baby boy’s curiosity about the world around him.  You will be able to utilize a weekly theme-based curriculum provided by Michigan Nanny Solutions to make teaching-through-play fun and easy-to-execute!
  • Outdoor Fun: Prioritize daily outdoor walks and playtime with baby boy to help develop his love of the natural world. When the baby boy is older, the family will encourage playdates, story times, classes, and other age-appropriate social excursions.
  • Light Child-Related Housekeeping: Handle child-related tasks such as baby’s laundry, sanitizing bottles, toys, and baby equipment, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked, and organized environment.
  • Pet-Friendly Environment: Share the work environment with the family’s four furry children—two dogs and two cats.  Be comfortable letting the dogs into the fenced-in backyard as needed during the day.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: You have at least three years of Professional Childcare Experience working with children ages 0-5, with at least one year of Professional Nanny Experience, from age 18 forward.  Preference will be given to candidates who have worked as a nanny with the same family for several years.
  • Skills: You are a fun-loving, creative, and maternal caregiver who teaches the children they care for by engaging them with play and exploration.  You have experience with and/or education in child development and are able to help parents anticipate and plan for upcoming milestones, can offer advice and support through parenting highs and lows, and are invested in helping them raise their child to be responsible, open-minded, and inquisitive.  You are skilled at maintaining open, honest, and ongoing communication with parents on all aspects of the child and the position.
  • Personality: You are a warm, loving, and inclusive person who takes personal and professional joy in making a positive impact on the children you care for and the families you support. You are a loving, maternal caregiver who loves the children in your care like your own, dedicated to their health, safety, and long-term development.  You strive to be a positive role model, teaching empathy, respect, and kindness to children through your interactions and activities.
  • Professionalism: You have a work history of making long-term commitments to past positions and have professional references who rave about the positive influence you’ve had on their children and their families. You pride yourself on your strong work ethic, trustworthiness, and responsibility, and have honed your ability to anticipate and meet (if not exceed!) the needs of the families you work for.  You understand and appreciate that the parents’ work success is dependent upon your role in their home, and can offer them the ongoing reassurance of having a nanny who is highly reliable, flexible, and dedicated to their position.

Perks and Benefits:

  • Competitive Pay: Earn $22-$26+ per hour, with guaranteed pay on the family’s payroll (W-2).
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick days, mileage reimbursement, annual professional development funds, and other standard nanny benefits.
  • Long-Term Commitment: The family is seeking someone who can commit to at least one year, with a strong preference for those available for 5+ years.
