Michigan Nanny Solutions is now interviewing for the following position:

A loving family in East Grand Rapids is seeking a Full-Time Nanny for 30 hours per week!

Professional parents are looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Professional Nanny to provide fun, engaging, and loving care for the family’s two children, an 8-year-old boy and 3-month-old infant girl, for a long-term, multi-year commitment.  Nanny will work every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am to 5pm, and Friday 9am to 3p, for a guaranteed 30 hours per week.  Monday hours and date nights may be requested occasionally, and Nanny will have advance notice and first right of refusal for any hours requested outside of the normal schedule.  The family would love to have their Nanny start by Monday, June 19, 2023.

Nanny’s primary responsibility each day will be to care for the emotional, social, developmental, and educational needs of the baby girl.  They will be a naturally loving and maternal caregiver and educator who is deeply invested in the child’s health, safety, education, and growth.  Nanny will be an engaging and attentive caregiver and playmate, will be able to plan gross and fine motor skills activities and sensory activities, and will foster a love of and excitement for learning and exploring the world around them from day one.  Daily outside (weather-permitting) walks and/or playtime will be encouraged, and as Baby Girl grows, they’ll be able to participate in playdates, story times, classes, and other age-appropriate social excursions.  The family’s ideal Nanny will have many years of experience working with infants and toddlers, ideally caring for at least one child from infancy through toddlerhood, will be knowledgeable about child development and how to help children meet milestones, and will be skilled in keeping open communication about the children with the parents and be able to adapt to the parent’s desires for both children as they grow and as their needs and daily schedules change over time.

The family’s 8-year-old is in school full-time during the school year and attends camps for much of each summer.  Nanny will provide care for the 8-year-old as needed before/after school, during summer/school breaks, and on sick days and snow days.  After school, Nanny will ensure he gets a healthy snack and may need to help with homework occasionally.  Nanny may occasionally be asked to provide transportation to and from school, camps, and activities, and will be encouraged to plan outings and play dates when the boy is not in school.

The Nanny will also be responsible for light child-related housekeeping, including: helping with the children’s laundry, washing/sanitizing bottles daily and other dishes used, tidying and maintaining organization in the children’s rooms and play areas, and tidying up after themselves and the children in the common areas (living room, kitchen, etc.)

The ideal Nanny for this family is self-motivated, kind, friendly, and outgoing, has a positive and inclusive outlook on life, and strives to treats all others with respect, kindness, and empathy (and is skilled in modeling these traits for the children they care for!)  They are a professional career-minded Nanny who takes pride in their solid work ethic and high level of responsibility, reliability, and trustworthiness.  They have a personal and professional enthusiasm and passion for spending their days loving on and investing in the infant and elementary schooler (and their family!)  This ideal Nanny is a maternal and loving caregiver who will naturally become an important part of the family, love each child like their own, and will thrill along with the parents over every new stage, development, and accomplishment as the children grow into kind, curious, and compassionate individuals.  They are also a creative and playful caregiver and educator, who believes in laying an early foundation for learning by engaging the children with intentional conversation, books, songs, toys, crafts, and activities.  The family hopes Nanny quickly feels like family, and will be comfortable and confident in keeping open, honest lines of communication with the parents in all things related to the children and the position.  The parents would love to work with someone who has a degree or coursework in early childhood education or child development and/or someone who has a work history of making long-term commitments to the families they’ve worked with in the past.  A minimum of 3 years of professional childcare experience is required.

This position requires a long-term commitment to the family, and preference will be given to the candidate who is willing to stay for more than three years.  A minimum of 1 year commitment is required.  Pay will start at $20-24 per hour depending on education and experience.  Nanny will have guaranteed pay, paid time off, paid sick days, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, and other standard nanny benefits.   Details will be discussed with qualified nannies at an in-person interview.
