POSITION OVERVIEW:
Michigan Nanny Solutions is excited to introduce a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Full-Time Nanny to join a warm, active family of three in DeWitt. With a curious, affectionate, and playful 4-year-old son, this family is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and creative professional who will become a trusted part of their child’s life while helping him learn, grow, and enjoy all the wonderful experiences of childhood.
This sweet little boy recently began attending Montessori preschool and is absolutely fascinated by the world around him! He loves sports, gymnastics, golf, garbage trucks, books, building, and anything that allows him to discover how things work. While he can initially be shy or cautious in unfamiliar situations, his playful personality shines when he feels safe and connected. He thrives on individual attention, imaginative play, and spending quality time with the adults he loves, making this a particularly rewarding position for a nanny who genuinely enjoys getting down on a child’s level and joining in the fun.
The nanny will work Monday–Friday from 10:30 AM–5:00 PM, with 32.5 guaranteed hours each week. The workday will begin with approximately an hour of child-related household tasks and preparation before picking up the child from preschool at noon. Afternoons will be dedicated to lunch, creative play, outdoor adventures, opportunities for socialization, and engaging activities that complement his Montessori education. With a fantastic dedicated playroom, plenty of outdoor toys, memberships to local attractions, and a family vehicle provided, there will be no shortage of opportunities for fun!
One parent works from home in a separate office, so the ideal nanny will be comfortable independently managing the child’s daily routine while navigating occasional family interactions throughout the day. The family deeply values patience, kindness, positive reinforcement, and consistent boundaries, and hopes to find someone who can encourage confidence, independence, and emotional growth through everyday experiences.
If you’re an experienced nanny who enjoys the preschool years, loves bringing creativity and energy to your work, and takes pride in building lasting relationships, this could be the perfect opportunity to make a wonderful difference in one little boy’s life!

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU LOVE:
A Curious Little Boy with a Big Imagination:
This playful 4-year-old has a wonderful sense of curiosity and loves spending time with someone who shares his enthusiasm for discovery! Whether you’re building elaborate creations, inventing games, shooting hoops, reading stories, or finding out how garbage trucks work, you’ll have the opportunity to turn ordinary afternoons into memorable adventures. He thrives on affection, genuine attention, and shared experiences, and his family is excited to find someone who will embrace his interests while introducing him to new ones.
Creative, Hands-On Play & Learning:
With a spacious playroom full of activity stations, sports equipment, games, and learning materials, this home is filled with possibilities! The family encourages creativity, outdoor play, and hands-on experiences rather than relying on screens for entertainment. You’ll have the freedom to plan engaging afternoons at home while also enjoying visits to parks, museums, libraries, playgrounds, and local attractions. The goal is to balance fun and exploration with opportunities to develop confidence, friendships, and independent play skills.
Helping Little Personalities Grow:
The family believes children need both loving encouragement and clear, consistent expectations. Their son is continuing to develop confidence in new situations, navigate big emotions, and become more independent. You’ll have opportunities to help him practice problem-solving, build social connections, and discover what he’s capable of through patient guidance and positive reinforcement. If you appreciate the Montessori philosophy of learning through experience and allowing children the freedom to grow at their own pace, you’ll feel right at home in this role!
A Family That Values Your Partnership:
These parents appreciate the important influence that a wonderful nanny can have on their child’s development and happiness. They’re seeking someone who brings fresh ideas, takes initiative, communicates openly, and feels confident making everyday decisions. They value mutual respect, thoughtful communication, and the kind of professional relationship where everyone feels comfortable sharing feedback and working together toward common goals.
Consistent Hours & a Lasting Relationship:
Enjoy the stability of a predictable Monday–Friday afternoon schedule with 32.5 guaranteed hours each week! While occasional additional coverage may be available during school breaks, summer vacation, or a parent’s work travel, your regular schedule will remain the foundation of the position. The family hopes to find someone who will become a familiar, much-loved presence throughout their son’s childhood, building a relationship that continues as his interests, abilities, and school routines evolve.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attentive, Engaging Childcare:
Provide warm, responsible, and developmentally appropriate care for an active preschooler who thrives on personal attention, affection, and genuine interaction. You’ll create a comfortable, encouraging environment where he feels safe to explore, ask questions, try new things, and express himself. The family values a patient, respectful caregiving approach that combines positive reinforcement, emotional understanding, and consistent, age-appropriate boundaries.
Creative Learning, Play & Everyday Adventures:
Plan engaging afternoons that balance active play, hands-on learning, creativity, outdoor exploration, and opportunities for social interaction. You’ll encourage his natural curiosity through building, imaginative games, books, crafts, sports, and everyday discoveries while supporting his confidence and ability to play independently. The family welcomes outings, playdates, and visits to local attractions, with a family vehicle provided for transportation throughout the year.
Preschool Pickup & Afternoon Routines:
Manage daily preschool pickup at noon, bring the child home for lunch, and establish a comfortable rhythm for the remainder of the afternoon. You’ll prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks, encourage positive mealtime habits, and help him transition between activities with patience and consistency. As his educational schedule changes, you’ll work collaboratively with the family to adapt routines and responsibilities.
Light Household & Child-Related Responsibilities:
Your workday will begin with approximately one hour dedicated to light child-related household support and preparing for the afternoon. The family appreciates someone who naturally takes initiative and enjoys maintaining an organized, comfortable environment, while recognizing that childcare remains the priority once their son is home.
Responsibilities may include:
- Folding and putting away the child’s laundry and maintaining organization in his bedroom and play areas
- Tidying and organizing toys, games, activity stations, and frequently used children’s spaces
- Preparing lunch and afternoon snacks, along with occasional light meal preparation for the family
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher, wiping kitchen surfaces, and maintaining general tidiness
- Preparing supplies and materials for planned activities, crafts, outings, and learning experiences
Communication & Professional Partnership:
Maintain open, respectful communication with the parents regarding the child’s activities, developmental progress, routines, and daily experiences. You’ll be comfortable working independently while one parent maintains a home office, navigating occasional interactions without disrupting the child’s routine or the parent’s workday. Reliability, punctuality, proactive planning, and consistent follow-through are especially important to this family, and they’ll value a nanny who takes pride in honoring professional commitments while building a trusting, collaborative relationship.
